Mission

ECFC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization with the mission of providing quality new and gently used clothing, home goods and furniture at no cost to qualified individuals and families from Eaton and Barry Counties.

Member Services

If you or your family meet income guidelines and are residents of Eaton or Barry County, you may qualify to be a member at ECFC. As a member you will receive one “free shop” per month and one annual furniture shop at no cost to you. Call or stop by the store for details on how to register as a member and guidelines for monthly free shops. Proof of financial need is required.

Children in grades K-12 from member families qualify for NEW shoes, boots, coats, and other items in our annual “Back to School” and “Winter Warm-Up” Programs. See a staff member for details. These children’s programs are supported through community partners and other donors.

Donations

ECFC gladly accepts donations of clean, gently used clothing, household items, and furniture. Donated items are either given at no cost to individuals in need or sold in our thrift store to support our mission. All donated items should be clean and in good condition. ECFC is unable to wash clothing or repair damaged items. We cannot accept certain items, including large appliances, large exercise equipment, children’s car seats and cribs. Call us with questions about whether we accept a particular item.

Financial donations to support our mission are gratefully accepted! Mail a check to our PO box, drop a donation off at the store, or use the donation button

Volunteer

Our volunteers are the heart of ECFC! Whether you can volunteer occasionally or every week, we need you! There’s a role for everyone, with tasks to match all skills and abilities. We especially need help with sorting and stocking donated goods. See a staff member at the front counter for details.
